I started Embers to Excellence two years ago without a roadmap—just a desire to get veterans and first responders out of the house and into an environment where they could reconnect, decompress, and find their people again. We began hosting simple gatherings at a local cigar lounge—no big budget, no agenda, just shared stories and real conversations.

What started as a small meet-up quickly became something more. The demand grew. The stories got deeper. We began forming partnerships, welcoming sponsors, and building a community that extended beyond the humidor. These events evolved into something people looked forward to—gatherings filled with quality individuals, community leaders, and powerful connection.

Over time, it became clear: this wasn’t just a good idea—it was a necessary one. So we made it official. Embers to Excellence became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a bigger mission: to expand into new cities, build chapters, and offer real tools, mentorship, and curated experiences for our service members.

And as we grew, we began to notice a pattern: many of the men and women who showed up weren’t just looking to connect—they were looking to build. They had ideas, goals, and businesses in motion. So we leaned in. Today, a core part of our mission includes empowering veterans, first responders, and purpose-driven leaders to pursue entrepreneurship and create their own legacy—through community, mentorship, and education.

What drives us is simple—creating trusted spaces where people can show up as they are, connect with purpose, and leave better than they came. Because sometimes, all it takes to light a spark again… is the right room.
